Oregon Grape Root, is also called Rocky Mountain Grape and Trailing Mahonia. It is used as a treatment for skin diseases, prostate infection, and as a general tonic. It is also used as a blood cleanser, to stimulate the liver and gall bladder, and as a mild laxative. Externally, a decoction of the root bark is used as a liniment for arthritis. A tea made from the root makes a good eye wash as well as a mouth wash for sores of the gums. Do not use during pregnancy. |
