Marigold is a great first aid remedy because of its antiseptic properties. For internal use the flowers are prepared by infusion and recommended for the flu, fever, rheumatism, headache, earache, jaundice, and painful menstruation. Externally, buds are made into compresses for the treatment of burns. The juice of Marigold leaves mixed with vinegar, will ease inflammation caused by muscle sprains. Marigold petals made into an ointment can help chapped hands and varicose veins, it also works wonders with eczema. The infusion, used as a hair rinse, brings out the shine and highlights in blonde and brunette hair. Excessive use may cause hallucinations. |
