Hyssop is used in treating respiratory ailments such as coughs due to cold. It is also quite useful in the treatment of digestive problems including gas.

Topically the leaves are applied to wounds as a poultice and as a wash to burns and other skin disorders.

The tea is used to soothe sore throats, both by drinking the tea and by gargling with it. It has been used to inhibit the growth of the herpes simplex virus.

The essential oil, diluted and applied to the scalp, kills lice and cures itchy scalp caused by eczema and dandruff.

Do not use if pregnant or suffering from epilepsy.
